Heavenly ski area, Northern Sierra Nevada, California
|
| | Heavenly is a mountain in two parts. One in NV and the other on the Lake in Tahoe. The Tahoe side gives you casinos and all the resort amenities. The NV side, reached by the Kingsbury Grade (a heck of a drive) is how the locals get to Heavenly and is barebones. You need to pay attention to where you are and when on this mountain because crossing from one side of the mountain to the other takes time and the right lifts which are all subject to closure (especially with the wind). So plan ahead. The Tahoe side has the |
|
bulk of the long runs and the views of the Lake. The NV side is more intricate and can be a refuge from the crowds as the entire state of CA seems to show up periodically. If you want to boom & zoom on your board stay on the Lake side. If you want to work it
| go to the NV side. Overall, a pretty good mix of runs, spectacular views and decent snow. When the map shows a catwalk expect to walk. Some of them are uphill and less than fun - again its worse when the wind is up. Ridgeline is tops for views. Board on. says Pat.
Broke my arm at Heavenly last year but I'm going back again this year. says Eddy Adams.

of and controlled by caring folks. There are 85 slopes to select from; it's a great collection. The winter panorama of the California mountaintops and the exceptionally glorious slopes are glorious attractions for lots of snow skiers. Heavenly has a brilliant
collection of trails; it's out of the question to get bored here. The Northern Sierra Nevada in winter is so lovely you won’t believe it. Heavenly receives more than average snow every winter. Heavenly has an average share of expert and advanced runs and an average

page will give you a good idea what Heavenly is like. Getting some tremendous exercise and a chance to spend some time in the fresh air have skiers coming here. The hills of California covered in good snow are a glorious spot for skiing or snowboarding. The snow
covered hills of the Northern Sierra Nevada make for a glorious landscape. There are some splendid hotel rooms near the main area, but do reserve a room before you go in view of the fact that it is a very popular destination. You might be into skiing or snowboarding,
or both, doesn't matter, this is a vicinity with a load of places for that. The snowboarding and the skiing in California is a delightful thing to do the whole season.
