Mt. Baldy

(...) While the staff is great, and the locals are tremendous, this is a very advanced mountain with extremely challenging conditions that are nothing like anything else in Southern California. You cannot compare a slope like, say, Vertigo at Mountain High West, rated as a double-black diamond, with any double-black diamond at Baldy, where the slopes are far steeper and have numerous obstacles. While I found some really sweet powder their last week, the area
is prone to very high winds, sheets of glassy ice where you would never expect them, and even after a big snowfall, there are stretches of mud, dirt, and rocks. If you take training seriously, and are experienced, and you pay attention
every single second, and you don't mind having the living crap scared out of you, you can have a great time on this mountain. If you are lazy, drunk or inexperienced, be prepared to go home in a cast-- or a helicopter. --Ma Says Matthew.

The 4 good ski lifts here are satisfactorily looked after and operated by welcoming people. Mt. Baldy boasts an average amount of snow every winter. Mt. Baldy's altitude difference of 2,100 feet is sufficient for a glorious top to

bottom run. This ski hill has an average share of difficult runs and an average fraction of blue and green runs. All the 28 ski slopes here are scenic. The natural prettiness of the California mountains and the extremely delightful ski runs are delightful attractions for scores of snow folks. You have to go 310 miles to get to a ski resort having a larger drop. A great workout and just hanging out with your skiing pals will make you feel great. The annual snowfall of 8 feet keeps the ski trails well covered during the season. Skiing and snowboarding here in California is scores of fun all winter season long. This ski resort has 400 acres of skiable land, and it's all in good condition. Mt. Baldy is a small ski mountain boasting a drop that's something like average compared to other west coast ski resorts. Mt. Baldy has an okay assortment of runs and a small number of ski lifts. The best piece of info on this resort is of course the trailmap of Mt. Baldy on this web page. There arenít any hotel rooms in the vicinity, but if you're ready to drive a short distance then no problem, and if you make reservations before you go, you're all set. The snow covered summits of the San Gabriel Mountains is a view worth seeing. Some folks prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way, in close proximity, you'll discover lots of great sites. The San Gabriel Mountains in winter is an extraordinarily delightful location if you take pleasure in snowboarding or skiing. The summits of California covered in great snow are a delightful location for snowboarding or skiing.
