Mt. Baldy

(...) While the staff is great, and the locals are tremendous, this is a very advanced mountain with extremely challenging conditions that are nothing like anything else in Southern California. You cannot compare a slope like, say, Vertigo at Mountain High West, rated as a double-black diamond, with any double-black diamond at Baldy, where the slopes are far steeper and have numerous obstacles. While I found some really sweet powder their last week, the area
is prone to very high winds, sheets of glassy ice where you would never expect them, and even after a big snowfall, there are stretches of mud, dirt, and rocks. If you take training seriously, and are experienced, and you pay attention
every single second, and you don't mind having the living crap scared out of you, you can have a great time on this mountain. If you are lazy, drunk or inexperienced, be prepared to go home in a cast-- or a helicopter. --Ma Says Matthew.

This ski resort has an average fraction of demanding trails and an average part of easy ski runs. Mt. Baldy has an okay diversity of ski runs and not too many lifts. The yearly snowfall is around average at Mt. Baldy. This ski area

has 400 acres of ski terrain, and it's all in wonderful condition. Mt. Baldy has the greatest altitude difference among ski areas in a 310 mile radius. The snow blanketed mountains of the San Gabriel Mountains is a view worth seeing. The 8 feet of good snow that falls here per year keeps the trails well blanketed all through the ski season. Some people prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way, there are a lot of pleasant places for that in close proximity. Snowboarding and skiing in this part of California is lots of fun during the snow season. Mt. Baldy is a small-size ski mountain with a roughly average altitude difference compared to other west coast ski areas. The drop from top to bottom of 2,100 feet is ample for a perfect top to bottom run. This ski resort has 28 slopes, and they are beautiful. The natural attractiveness of the California mountains and the excitement of cruising down a slope are guaranteed to keep you returning. All of the 4 lifts are cool to take a ride with. Some exercise and just hanging out with your skiing buddies have folks coming here. You may have to settle for a hotel a bit far away from the bottom of the hill if you want to stay an extra day, but do book a room ahead of going in view of the fact that it is a very popular destination. The best piece of info on this resort is of course the ski run map of Mt. Baldy on this net page. The California mountains during snow season are a great spot for snowboarding or skiing. In wintertime the San Gabriel Mountains is a complete snowboarding or skiing delight.
