SolVista Basin ski area, Colorado
|
| | Save time and money and avoid Solvista for skiing. Has potential as the mountain is friendly to new skiers but the amenities leave a lot to be desired. Lack of parking and or shuttles and no room to relax as the lodge reminds me of a cross-country ski shelter. If you can pack a BBQ in the car that would be your best bet for warm food and a place to sit down. says Tony Rankin.
this is a great resort for teaching the young ones how to ride. the staff did an excellent job in teaching my two kids. says diggity.

Sol Vista is a tiny mountain compared to the other ski mountains nearby. It does have it's charm though. It's a good place to learn before you hit the bigger resorts nearby. says Daniel.
SolVista Basin gets snowfall close to the local average every season.
| | The 1,000 feet of drop is reasonably acceptable; it's enough to get some decent time on the slopes between lifts. The fantastic 18 feet of yearly snowfall is one of the greatest highlights of this ski area. SolVista Basin has a much lower than average ratio of hard slopes and a much higher than average proportion of beginner and intermediate ski runs. SolVista Basin has a nice variety of ski trails; there's absolutely no way to get bored here. All 6 great ski lifts at this ski area are perfectly kept up and controlled | |

by welcoming people. SolVista Basin is a small ski hill boasting a relatively relaxed vertical drop if compared to other US Rockies ski areas. This ski mountain has 406 acres of skiable area, and it's all blanketed by snow. On this hill you'll run into 37 different
ski runs; it's a good array. SolVista Basin has a decent variety of ski runs and a decent selection of different ski lifts. You could be into skiing or snowboarding, or both, doesn't matter, there are scores of perfect places for that around here. There are several
nice hotels near the bottom of the hill, and if you make reservations prior to departure, you're all set. The wintertime scenery of the Colorado peaks and the pleasant sense of cruising down the runs have a lot of ski people coming here. Good exercise and just
being on the ski runs for a while will make you feel perfect. Skiing and snowboarding in this part of the country is scores of fun every day of the season. SolVista Basin is a nice ski mountain for the whole family with plenty of intermediate or beginner ski trails.
Special features: Tubing Zone open on Night Ski Nights. Snow Play Park, Half Pipe, Terrain Park, Progression Park
