Marshall Mountain ski area, Montana
|
| | If it is the same place I skied in 1957-58, it may be one of the best kept secrets in the N. Rockies. Great dry snow and almost no crowds. Used to ski behind the Bennett sisters from St. Regis, and (he never knew it) behind Rudy Ruana, NCAA Big Sky slalom champ in 1960. Rudy went on to coach at the USAF Academy. says Buck Wheat.
Marshall has been closed for quite sometime now, but for the weekend of February 6-7 2010, The Backwoods Project will be running the Ride Montana Festival at the base area. It will include |
an open terrain park and contest as well as a line up of live music. Check out thebackwoodsproject.com for more information. says Gregg Janecky.
Lovely little ski mountain. They have night skiing too, very very good. says Branda.
The 23 trails
| | at this ski resort are totally amusing. There are 3 good ski lifts here, and they are capably looked after and controlled by friendly people. There's 400 acres of skiing area, and it's all covered by wonderful snow. This is a petite ski mountain featuring a medium vertical drop when compared to other US Rockies ski mountains. The yearly snowfall is in the region of average at Marshall Mountain. This ski resort boasts so much snow, 13 feet every year, and that is plenty for especially splendid depth. The 1,500 feet of drop | |

from top to bottom is pretty acceptable; Marshall Mountain makes great use of it all. This ski mountain has a comparatively small array of ski trails and a fairly modest number of ski lifts. This ski area has a much lower than average share of expert and advanced
trails and a much higher than average percentage of intermediate or beginner ski trails. The trailmap of Marshall Mountain on this web page unsurprisingly says a thousand words. A fine workout and a chance to spend some time in nature beats anything. If you'll
be staying in a hotel, you're in luck, rooms are on hand next to the main area, but you'd better book in advance of a trip given that these rooms fill up rapidly. Skiing and snowboarding in this part of the country is a magnificent thing to do the whole season.
Whether you're skiing or snowboarding, this neighborhood has lots of ski mountains. The natural beauty of the Montana summits and all the wonderful ski runs have snow people coming from far and wide. The Montana peaks in the wintertime are always magnificent for snowboarding and skiing.
