| | Mohawk was a beautiful tree-lined mountain before the tornado. It's not as pretty, New-Englandy and fun to ski now. says Sandy B.
Mohawk Mountain has a rather modest assortment of trails and an ok quantity of lifts. This is a small-size ski area with an average elevation difference compared to other east coast ski mountains. Mohawk Mountain has snowfall close to the local average every ski season. There's 107 acres of ski terrain, and it's all blanketed by good snow. The 23 ski runs at this ski area are amusing |

| | in Connecticut is truly a magnificent time of year for skiing or snowboarding. With a 640 foot drop from top to bottom it's not the highest hill there is, but Mohawk Mountain compensates for it by other means. Scores of skiers from Torrington like to ski here. The 8 feet of snow that falls here every year keeps the trails well blanketed through the ski season. A good workout and spending some quality time in the wilderness have ski people coming here. the mountain. You may have to settle for a hotel a bit far from the base zone if you want to stay for the night, but you'd better reserve before heading out in view of the fact that these rooms fill up fast. The snowboarding and the skiing in this part of the
country is a nice thing to do during the winter season. Whether you're skiing or snowboarding, in the neighborhood, you'll discover a lot of good places.
