Ski Sundown ski area, Connecticut
|
| | Sundown is a really good ski area for beginners and other skiers who prefer to take it a bit slow and just enjoy a day in the snow. says Jeff Hernandez.
I love Ski Sundown. From the momment you pull into the drive way you can feel something special about this new hartford based gem. Personally, I like terrain parks and feel that this place does the best job of creating features that are fun for me. luckily they make so much snow that you hardley even care that its in connecticut and doesnt get very much natural. |
I'd put this on my must ski list for southern new englanders says jarrod.
This ski mountain has a much lower than average fraction of challenging trails and a much higher than average fraction of easy ski trails. The seasonal snowfall is less than average
| | at Ski Sundown. The 5 feet of beautiful snow that falls here every winter doesn’t sound like a heap, but it's relatively acceptable. This ski hill has a small variety of ski trails and an okay sum of different ski lifts. The skiable land being 65 acres, it's more of a small-size style ski mountain. This ski mountain has 5 great ski lifts, and they will get you up the slope well. This is a smaller than average ski hill having a medium drop when compared to other east coast ski hills. is a good thing to do every day of the snow season. Ski Sundown is a magnificent site for the whole family with heaps of blue and green slopes. With a 625 foot drop it's not the highest hill there is, but Ski Sundown has so many other good qualities. A perfect
workout and getting out of the house for a while will make you feel perfect. The 15 runs at this ski area are enjoyable to ski on. Ski Sundown has the biggest altitude difference for 26 miles. No matter if you're skiing or snowboarding, this vicinity has loads
of ski resorts. Not too many rooms in the vicinity, you'll have to voyage a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations, you might end up slumbering in your automobile. Connecticut gets incredibly stunning in winter; it is so stunning for skiing or snowboarding.
You get loads of skiers going up here from Torrington on snow covered weekends.
Special features: 2 terrain parks, advanced and progressive, designated mogul trail, steepest terrain in Connecticut, snow skate park in base area, modern and spacious lodge with mountain view deck
