Ski Sundown ski area, Connecticut
|
| | Sundown is a really good ski area for beginners and other skiers who prefer to take it a bit slow and just enjoy a day in the snow. says Jeff Hernandez.
I love Ski Sundown. From the momment you pull into the drive way you can feel something special about this new hartford based gem. Personally, I like terrain parks and feel that this place does the best job of creating features that are fun for me. luckily they make so much snow that you hardley even care that its in connecticut and doesnt get very much natural. |
I'd put this on my must ski list for southern new englanders says jarrod.

more. This ski hill gets covered by less snowfall than the local average each season. You get loads of skiers driving up here from Torrington on snowy weekends. The skiable land being 65 acres, it's relaxed enough to get to know all your fellow snow folks. With
a 625 foot drop it's not the tallest hill there is, but Ski Sundown makes up for it in other ways. Ski Sundown has a humble assortment of ski runs and quite few ski lifts. All the 15 runs here are fine. Some folks prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way,
in this general neighborhood, you'll discover lots of ski hills. Not too many hotel rooms in the neighborhood, you'll have to travel a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations, you may well end up sleeping in your automobile. The winter in Connecticut
is truly a fine time of year for snowboarding or skiing. Skiing and snowboarding in this part of the country is scores of fun the whole ski season.
