New Hermon Mountain has the greatest vertical drop for 48 miles. range of trails and a fairly modest total of ski lifts. This ski area has 21 trails, and they are scenic. The skiable land being 70 acres, it's relaxed enough to get to know all your fellow snow people. The 3 great ski lifts here are fun to catch a ride with.
| | With a 360 foot altitude difference it's not the highest hill there is, but all the other great features of New Hermon Mountain make up for it. The yearly snowfall is more or less average at New Hermon Mountain. The winter months in Maine is truly a wonderful time of year for snowboarding and skiing. Good exercise and spending some quality time in the great outdoors attract ski people from near and far. voyage up here from Bangor, specifically on the weekends. Some folks prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way, there are scores of good locations for that close by. There are several delightful rooms close to the bottom area, but do book a room in advance of a trip as it is a very popular destination.
