Mt. Peter ski area, New York
|
| | This ski hill feels much bigger than it really is in some weird way. says Heidi.
The 400 foot vertical drop is of course not that much to boast about, but Mt. Peter makes up for it with other things. All the 11 trails here are great. Every season this ski mountain gets 4 feet of good snow, and that is naturally not first-rate, but not too shaggy either. Mt. Peter has a comparatively modest variety of ski slopes and a somewhat small amount of ski lifts. Mt. Peter is a more petite than average ski area boasting |
|
a pretty cozy elevation difference when compared to other east coast ski hills. The 3 different ski lifts here are in great condition. This ski hill has an average proportion of hard ski runs and an average share of intermediate or beginner ski slopes. The skiable
| | territory being 69 acres, it's extremely likable and cozy. Mt. Peter obtains lighter than average snow each winter. You could be into skiing or snowboarding, or both, doesn't matter, there are scores of great places for that close at hand. A bit of exercise and getting out of the house for a while are great motives to come. If you'll be living in a hotel, you're in luck, places to stay are available near the bottom of the hill, and if you make reservations before you go, you're all set. You get lots of skiers going up here from Kingston on snowy weekends. The ski trail map of Mt. Peter on this net page of course says a thousand words. | |
