I've been skiing at thunder ridge since I was 5. So when I moved, it was a HUGE disapiontment to have such good skiing taken away. says Jack.

I come out here from New York a few times every winter to get some good skiing. It's a pretty decent place. says Carol.

The nearest ski hill in possession of a higher drop is 25 miles away. This is a petite ski area in possession of a relatively cozy drop compared to other east coast ski hills. All in all there are 30 ski runs to choose from; it's a magnificent

    set. This ski hill has a much lower than average proportion of tough ski runs and a much higher than average ratio of intermediate or beginner trails. This ski resort gets covered by 8 feet of fluffy snow yearly, and that keeps the coverage wonderful. Thunder
Ridge has a reasonable variety of trails and a moderate quantity of ski lifts. Getting your skiing muscles stimulated and getting out of the house for a while are wonderful motives to come. There's 100 acres of skiable land, and all of it makes for pleasant skiing. You may have to settle for a hotel a bit far away from the base zone if you want to stay overnight, and if you make reservations before heading out, you're all set. This is a good ski mountain for young and old with lots of intermediate or beginner slopes for

beginners. This ski hill has an average amount of snow each season. All 4 different ski lifts at this ski resort are fun to catch a ride with. With a 500 foot vertical drop it's not the tallest hill there is, but Thunder Ridge compensates for it in other ways. You get scores of skiers traveling up here from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown on snowy weekends. Snowboarding and skiing in this part of New York is scores of fun the whole ski season.
