Thunder Ridge ski area, New York
|
| | I come out here from New York a few times every winter to get some good skiing. It's a pretty decent place. says Carol.
Thunder Ridge has a much lower than average percentage of hard runs and a much higher than average proportion of green and blue ski slopes. This ski area has an acceptable variety of ski slopes and a comparatively humble amount of ski lifts. This is a small ski resort in possession of a more inviting than average drop from top to bottom compared to other east coast ski areas. The annual snowfall |
|
is approximately average at Thunder Ridge. Thunder Ridge has the largest drop from top to bottom among ski areas in a 25 mile radius. This ski area has 100 acres of terrain, and it's all blanketed by good snow. All of the 4 lifts are well looked after and operated
| | by friendly folks. The 8 feet of snow that falls here every year keeps the trails well covered through the season. A 500 foot altitude difference is of course not that much, but all the other nice attributes of Thunder Ridge make up for it. Skiing and snowboarding in this part of the country is a nice thing to do during the season. Some people prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way, this area has lots of ski mountains. On this slope you'll come across 30 different slopes; there's a nice mixture to gratify everyone. | |

Some exercise and an opportunity to spend some time in the outdoors will make you delighted you came. Please refer to the ski run map of Thunder Ridge on this net page for information. There aren’t any rooms nearby, but if you're ok to journey a small distance
then no problem, but you'd better reserve before heading out as these rooms fill up rapidly. This is a family friendly ski area with a heap of intermediate or beginner trails.
