This is a conventional size ski resort in possession of a drop that's more or less average compared to other mid west ski mountains. Sundown Mountain has a much lower than average part of advanced and expert runs and a much higher than average ratio of intermediate or beginner runs. With a 475 foot vertical drop it's not the tallest hill there is, but all the other delightful attributes of Sundown Mountain make up for it. This ski area receives lighter than average snow every winter. There are 7 good ski lifts here, and

    they are in nice shape. Whether you're skiing or snowboarding, in this general area, you'll come across scores of ski resorts. This ski hill has a fairly humble array of runs and an acceptable selection of different ski lifts. The 20 runs at this ski resort are
nice to ski on. Sundown Mountain has the biggest altitude difference among ski mountains in a 67 mile radius. The ski terrain being 55 acres, it's relaxed enough to get to know all your fellow snow skiers. Loads of skiers voyage up here from Dubuque, specifically on the weekends. Every winter this ski resort gets 4 feet of snow, and that is naturally not first-rate, but not that shaggy either.
