 Lutsen ski area Management Says:
Minnesota winters are the stuff of legend. So what better place to strut your stuff than at Lutsen Mountains: Minnesota's legendary winter resort. Showcasing Minnesota's best features - the highest mountains, the most snowfall and the breathtaking beauty of the North Shore - Lutsen has continually expanded and improved for more than 60 years to better serve the needs of skiers.

Today Lutsen Mountains boasts 92 alpine
runs sweeping across four interconnected mountains, making Lutsen three to four times larger than any other Midwest ski area. Ten lifts including the only gondola in the Midwest, service the highest vertical-rise is the highest in
Mid-America, doubling that of other regional resorts. There's a variety of terrain for all levels from beginner to expert, including an entire mountain dedicated to beginners, another mountain peppered with jumps and terrain park features, and challenging glade runs and double-black-diamonds for the advanced.

On-mountain, ski-in/ski-out lodging and dining, and an endless array of events, music and activities add to the true mountain vacation experience.

There's something for everyone on the mountain or nearby: après ski acoustic music, nationally touring comedians, poker tournaments, culinary events, naturalist programs, classical performances, sleigh rides, dog sledding, late night live entertainment and more. Best of all, many of the events and activities are free!

Add Lutsen's unique location and environment. Four hundred kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails wind through the nearby woods. Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Wilderness are in Lutsen's back yard, so the possibilities for snowshoeing, ice fishing, dog sledding and snowmobiling are endless. To top it all off, Lake Superior - the largest freshwater lake in the world - provides the most picturesque backdrop.
