Mount Kato ski area, Minnesota
|
| | This is an ordinary size ski hill having a roughly average altitude difference when compared to other mid west ski resorts. You have to go 60 miles to get to a ski resort boasting a better size drop from top to bottom. Having a terrain of 55 acres, it's petite enough to get to know all your fellow ski folks. A 240 foot vertical drop is of course not that much, but all the other perfect attributes of Mount Kato make up for it. All the 19 runs here are delightful. Mount Kato receives less than average snow each season. |
|
Every snow season this ski resort gets 4 feet of wonderful snow, and that is rather acceptable for a ski resort like this one. The snowboarding and the skiing in this part of the country is scores of fun all season long. This ski area has a much lower than average
| | share of hard slopes and a much higher than average part of beginner and intermediate runs. Mount Kato has a somewhat small collection of runs and an ok pick of lifts. This is a wonderful ski hill for everyone with plenty of intermediate or beginner runs. Heaps of skiers voyage up here from Mankato-North Mankato, in particular on the weekends. The 8 lifts here are capably maintained and managed by pleasant people. There are a number of glorious hotel rooms next to the bottom of the hill, but you'd better book in advance | |

of a trip in view of the fact that these hotel rooms fill up quick. You might be into skiing or snowboarding, or both, doesn't matter, there are a lot of brilliant spots for that in close proximity. Getting your skiing muscles set in motion and an opportunity
to spend some time in the great outdoors is better than anything. The best piece of info on this resort is naturally the ski map of Mount Kato on this web page.
