Clear Fork ski area, Ohio
|
| | When I used to go here with my parents we used to have such a good time. says Joey.
This ski area boasts lower than average snow every season. You have to go 96 miles to get to a ski hill having a greater height difference. A 300 foot vertical drop is of course not that much, but Clear Fork has so many other tremendous qualities. This is a mid-size ski resort having an elevation difference that's more or less average when compared to other mid west ski hills. The skiable territory being 60 acres, it makes for |
|
an intimate skiing experience. The seasonal snowfall of 4 feet is not enormously high, but it's ok. All 6 lifts at this ski resort make for a relaxing ride up the hill. Plenty of skiers journey up here from Mount Vernon, especially on the weekends. Not too many
| | rooms nearby, you'll have to go a bit to get to one, but do reserve a room prior to departure since it is a very popular destination. Clear Fork has a comparatively modest variety of runs and an okay selection of great ski lifts. Clear Fork has a much lower than average percentage of demanding trails and a much higher than average fraction of green and blue runs. The 10 trails at this ski mountain are totally amusing. Some people prefer skiing and some snowboarding, either way, in this general neighborhood, you'll come | |

across lots of ski resorts. A little exercise and just hanging out with your skiing friends will have you returning. The winter in Ohio is truly a perfect time of year for snowboarding and skiing. Clear Fork is a good ski hill for young and old with loads of blue and green slopes.
