This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane. says Andy.

The vertical keeps you challenged unlike the resorts in the U.P. and the rest of the Midwest! Only 3 hrs from Milwaukee!!!

Granite Peak is I think the best ski area in the region. There are lots of runs for everybody. I like the black diamonds but my wife and kids like the blues and greens so this is perfect
for us since it has plenty of all three. says Max.

All of the 8 good ski lifts are in good shape. The nearest ski area featuring a more sky-scraping height difference is 646 miles away. This ski mountain has an average share of challenging slopes and an average proportion of green and blue trails. Granite Peak receives less snowfall than the local average each winter season. This ski mountain has 74 trails that you may ski on; it's a good selection. Granite Peak is a large ski hill in possession of a lot of vertical

feet when you compare it to other ski areas in the region. There are many fine lodgings to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations, you may perhaps end up slumbering in your car. This ski area boasts 6 feet of snow per season, and that keeps the trails well blanketed during the winter. Great exercise and just hanging out with your skiing mates will make you feel tremendous. With a 700 foot altitude difference it's not the highest hill there is, but Granite Peak compensates for it by other means. This ski hill has 275 acres of ski terrain, and it's all blanketed by fluffy snow. Granite Peak has a first-rate variety of trails and a decent quantity of lifts. Snowboarding and skiing in this region is so much fun every day of the ski season. The winter months in Wisconsin is the most marvelous time of the year for snowboarding and skiing. Whether you're skiing or snowboarding, there are a lot of tremendous ski hills for that around here. A heap of skiers go up here from Wausau, specially on the weekends.
