With a 700 foot drop from top to bottom it's not the highest hill there is, but The Homestead has so many other wonderful characteristics. The Homestead has a rather modest set of ski trails and sufficient good ski lifts to serve them all. The seasonal snowfall of 4 feet doesn’t sound like heaps, but it's pretty ok. condition. This ski resort gets lower snowfall than the local average every winter. With a skiing area of 45 acres, it makes for a peaceful skiing experience. The Homestead has the most sizeable altitude difference among ski mountains in a 26 mile radius. When

This ski resort has an average percentage of demanding runs and an average proportion of intermediate or beginner ski trails. mountains. Loads of skiers go up here from Roanoke, specifically on the weekends. The skiing and the snowboarding in this region is a lot of fun all season long. You may have to settle for a hotel a bit far away from the main area if you want to stay overnight, but do reserve a room before you go since it is a very popular destination.
