Winterplace has the greatest drop among ski mountains in a 89 mile radius. Winterplace is an ordinary size ski area boasting an average vertical drop if compared to other mid Atlantic ski mountains. This ski mountain has a much lower than average percentage of demanding slopes and a much higher than average part of intermediate or beginner slopes. This ski resort has a decent set of slopes and

    enough great ski lifts to serve them all. This ski resort has 9 good ski lifts, and they will get you up the mountain well. Snowboarding and skiing in this part of West Virginia is a pleasant thing to do throughout the ski season. The 8 feet of white snow that
fall here every year keeps the depth great. With a skiable area of 90 acres, it makes for an intimate skiing experience. The yearly snowfall is around average at this ski mountain. There are a lot of hotel rooms here if you want to spend a night, but do reserve a room before heading out in view of the fact that it is a very popular destination. This ski area has 27 slopes, and they are totally amusing. This is a popular ski area for skiers from Beckley. The 603 foot drop from top to bottom is of course not that much

to brag about, but Winterplace has so many other fine characteristics. Delightful exercise and a chance to spend some time in nature tops anything. When this part of West Virginia is blanketed in fluffy snow; it is the most wonderful time of the year for snowboarding or skiing.
