Fun Valley   they just shut down..... says an anonymous skier. The nearest ski mountain in possession of a more towering drop is 98 miles away. With a 240 foot drop it's not the highest hill there is, but Fun Valley has so many other great attributes. This ski hill has a fairly small array of slopes and enough good ski lifts to serve them all. The terrain being 30 acres, it's more of a petite style ski area. The 5 great ski lifts here are amusing to catch a ride     with. This ski area receives lower snowfall than the local average each season. This ski area has a much lower than average proportion of red and black slopes and a much higher than average fraction of intermediate or beginner slopes. This ski area boasts 3 feet of good snow every winter, and that is not fantastically high, but it's okay. The ski run map of Fun Valley on this page of course says a thousand words. Fun Valley is a small ski mountain boasting a roughly average elevation difference when compared to other mid west ski mountains. The wintertime in Iowa is truly a great time of year for snowboarding and skiing. All the 14 trails here are picturesque. A wonderful workout and just hanging       out with your skiing pals outdoes anything. This is a great ski resort for the whole family with a lot of intermediate or beginner slopes. Lots of skiers journey up here from Oskaloosa, in particular on the weekends. Whether you're   skiing or snowboarding, there are a small number of other wonderful places for that close at hand. The skiing and the snowboarding in this region is so much fun the whole ski season.
