Riverside Hills has a fairly humble array of ski runs and a comparatively small amount of ski lifts. This ski mountain has 6 runs, and they are totally enjoyable. The 3 different ski lifts here will get you up the mountain effectively. You have to go 67 miles to get to a ski resort featuring a bigger altitude difference. Hills is nice and relaxed, and folks who work there are very pleasant. A 190 foot altitude difference is unsurprisingly not that much, but all the other good properties of Riverside Hills compensate for it. Riverside Hills gets covered by less snowfall than the
| | local average every winter season. This is a petite ski mountain with an average height difference if compared to other mid west ski resorts. There are perfect comfy lodgings here, but do reserve a room prior to departure in view of the fact that it is a very popular destination. Having 40 acres of terrain, it's more of a relaxed style ski resort. The yearly snowfall of 5 feet is reasonably okay for a ski area such as this one. or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with few other ski mountains for that. Skiing and snowboarding in this part of the country is a great thing to do all ski season long. The winter in Iowa is truly a perfect time of year for snowboarding or skiing.
