| | Eaton Mountain has the biggest altitude difference for 50 miles. The 6 feet of snow that fall here per winter keeps the coverage magnificent. This ski resort obtains lighter than average snow each ski season. Eaton Mountain is a relaxed ski mountain having a more petite than average altitude difference when compared to other east coast ski hills. ski mountain has a comparatively small collection of ski trails and a rather humble total of ski lifts. With 50 acres of skiing area, it makes for an intimate skiing experience. The winter in Maine is the most wonderful time of the year for snowboarding and skiing.

Eaton Mountain has a much higher than average proportion of black and red ski runs and a much lower than average proportion of beginner and intermediate ski runs. With a 525 foot altitude difference it's not the highest hill there is, but all the other fine properties of Eaton Mountain compensate for it.
