Big Powderhorn Mountain
| | I used to live right by Big Powderhorn Mountain and we would go there very weekend of the season back in the old days. Says Jean.
This ski mountain has a reasonable assortment of slopes and a good amount of great ski lifts. There's 250 acres of skiing land, and it's all blanketed by good snow. The extraordinary annual snowfall of 17 feet is ample for really good coverage. There are 10 different ski lifts here, and they are in delightful shape. This ski |
area has a much lower than average fraction of challenging ski slopes and a much higher than average percentage of blue and green slopes. Having a total of 33 trails to ski on; there are more than enough trails for every ability.
| No lack of splendid lodgings, and if you make reservations prior to departure, you're all set. Big Powderhorn Mountain receives snowfall close to the local average each winter. With a 600 foot height difference it's not the tallest hill there is, but Big Powderhorn Mountain makes up for it in other ways. hills of the Gogebic Range make for a good view. You get loads of skiers traveling up here from Merrill on snowy weekends.
